Mirage: A Circus Life

...opens upon a lone clown-like character, meticulously applying his makeup as the audience filters in. Amongst the audience are the rest of the ensemble who slowly join the action onstage, themselves transforming from everyday people into inventive, daring and humorous entertainers with an astonishing array of talents. The close knit group of jugglers, acrobats, aerialists and clowns explore questions of who we are, how we belong & what is diversity in a show that is alternately poignant and uplifting, irreverent and poetic.

MIRAGE: A Circus Life was developed around a freestanding aerial sculpture upon which the ensemble company swings and dances, defies gravity and succumbs to it. As the show progresses the sculpture gets taller and more complex until the final dramatic moment when the entire contraption comes apart in a surprising finale.

Suitable for the whole family.

Producers Note: The aerial set can be erected in spaces indoors and out of doors, allowing the company to perform almost anywhere.

Nimble Arts was founded by award winning, identical twin aerialists Elsie Smith & Serenity Smith Forchion to create inventive works of theatrical circus. The ensemble’s resumes include Cirque du Soleil, Cirque Eloize, Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey, Pickle Family Circus, Circa and numerous awards and they blur the boundaries of circus, theater, dance and commentary. nimblearts.org
